Harvey Lee Kohn left us to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 8, 2008.
Memorial service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at St. Matthews' Lutheran Church, 5709 Wedgwood, 817-292-1338. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, may be designated to Harvey's passions, St. Matthews' Youth Ministry or BSA Troop 40.
He was born in Bay City, Mich., and graduated from Central Michigan University with a B.S. in education in 1972.
After his marriage in 1972, he enjoyed time coaching and playing volleyball, softball and bridge (sometimes rather competitively). Harvey worked at Miller Brewing Company the past 30 years and recently retired. As a member of St. Matthews', he was active in various service committees over the past 25 years and involved in the youth education ministry. Harvey was active in Boy Scouts of America and was a troop leader for over 20 years. Hobbies included working in his vegetable garden, growing flowers and other plants, and he enjoying bike riding, canoeing, and other outdoor activities.
Harvey is reunited with his wife, (his soul mate), Carolyn, who preceded him in death last October.
Survivors: Daughter, Cynthia; son, Alan; mother, Clara Kohn; sister, Sandra Dinger; brothers, Howard Kohn, Ronald Kohn, Roy Kohn and Dale Kohn; and other family and many friends who loved him.
