In Memory Of Gary Braughton

NORTHPORT – Edward Gary Braughton, age 72, of Northport, passed away February 7, 2018 with his family at his bedside. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018, at United Methodist Church with Pastor Spivey officiating and Northport Funeral & Cremation Service directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Eleanor Chism Simpson and grandparents, Leon and Ruth Chism.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Concetta Braughton; son, David Braughton; sister, Sandra Pickens; and grandsons, Cody and Hunter Braughton plus their families. He had three stepchildren and their families.

Golf was his passion. Gary loved Ol' Colony and he was dedicated to making it a special place for everyone to have a great time. He was always quick with a joke, a one liner and a smile.

His buddy, Mike, says his favorite saying was "I haven't made a bogey yet!"

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to First Tee or a charity of your choice.
